Curator's Note

We are India’s first slow community that started from What to How to Where about Sustainability, now in Singapore

The realisation that most of my questions were not getting answered through what I chose to express myself with.
Who Made my Clothes?
Where were my bags being made?
What was the story of the statement pieces I very lovingly brought home and spent my money on?
This got me to find and curate everything sustainable and in return empower Millons working behind the scenes

ART is subjective and ARTISTS are heroes without capes

Dear Shuffling Suitcases Family,

Before I walk you through why and where the idea of giving birth to a one of a kind platform came to me, it is only right I tell you that I like most of you have been the result of fast fashion. I too belong to the times where what you wear and how you wear is how you get judged. But what changed it all for me?

The realisation that most of my questions were not getting answered through what I chose to express myself with.
Who Made my Clothes? Where were my bags being made? What was the story of the statement pieces I very lovingly brought home and spent my money on?
All this and more led me to a path where I gave up on fast fashion and understood my inherent bent towards products that came not only with a price tag but also had a story that I would cherish every time I wear them.
In 2017, when I sat in a huge bun-glow in what we now call Kolkata, which was nothing less than 100 years old, I thought of getting some artists together to do an art show. The idea built itself to what I lovingly called “Fashion and Art under one roof” because both were as important to me.

The need for people to know the stories behind what they spend most of their income on, was at the heart of this idea. A platform where people who work directly with the hands that make, cutting the mid men will come along to spread the word about slow living. A concept that I have been learning and living from the past few years.

The word “sustainability” was still new and we were one of the first to become the flag bearers to take the idea of conscious living while proving alternatives to different cities and gradually globally too.
Today we are India’s first slow community that starts from What to How to Where about Sustainability. We consider this our responsibility to teach people about this concept while giving them alternative options, both on our offline as well as the online platform through awareness workshops, day-out events, curated pop-ups and more.

We welcome you to our first International expansion and promise to hold your hand through this conscious journey.

Come join the journey with us!
